Acca Kappa
Acca Kappa
Founded 1869 · Treviso, Italy
There are not many brands that can claim a history stretching back more than 150 years — and fewer still that remain genuinely family-owned across four generations. Acca Kappa is one of those rare and wonderful things.
The story begins in 1869, when Hermand Krull relocated from Prussia to Treviso, near Venice, and established what would become Acca Kappa. The brand built its early reputation as a manufacturer of premium hair brushes and accessories, renowned for sourcing only the finest materials. So exacting were their standards that they became the official supplier to the British Royal Family.
The company’s journey has not been without adversity. During the First World War, the business was seized by German forces. But Krull’s sons fought to reclaim their father’s legacy, successfully buying the business back from the Italian government and keeping the family tradition alive.
By the 1990s, Acca Kappa was widely regarded as Italy’s finest brush manufacturer. Then, in the late 1980s, the current President — Ms. Elisa Gera, great-great-granddaughter of the original founder — made a visionary decision to expand the brand. Guided by three enduring principles. The highest quality raw materials, simplicity in design, and deep respect for the environment. Acca Kappa grew into fragrance, skin, shaving, and body care.
1997 brought another milestone: the launch of White Moss, Acca Kappa’s first perfume. Clean, fresh, and instantly wearable, White Moss remains a bestseller to this day. The perfume collection has since grown to more than 20 fragrances, and the beloved 15ml mini sizes have introduced the brand to a whole new audience.
Today, Acca Kappa is celebrated for its high quality perfumes, gentleman’s grooming products, and body care, all crafted with the same commitment to Italian craftsmanship, natural ingredients, and traditional production methods that have defined the brand since 1869.
