Finding Your Fit Again: Bras After a Mastectomy

So, you’ve come through your mastectomy — and now you’re faced with something that feels surprisingly emotional: finding and buying new bras. It sounds so practical, doesn’t it? But for many women, this moment brings up a whole mix of feelings.

And that’s completely okay.

There is no need to travel to Geelong, Warrnambool or Ballarat I offer all you need in Colac.

Let’s talk about it like two friends over a cup of tea. My name is Jenny

First Things First — You Deserve a Proper Fitting

The Right Bra Makes All the Difference after breast surgery.

This isn’t the time to guess your size or order something online and hope for the best. As a trained post-mastectomy fitter I’m your best friend right now. I’m offering you to a specialised lingerie boutique with experience, sensitivety, and a genuinely lovely environment.

Come in, ask all your questions, and don’t rush. This appointment is for you.

Post-surgery bras have come so far.

Gone are the days of beige and boring — today’s options are pretty, comfortable, and available in a huge range of styles. You may even be able to wear the same style of bra you were wearing before your surgery. There is specialty bras made for breast forms with pockets already sewn inside, some of these offering front and back fastening which can be very useful for ladies suffering from Lymphedema. Ladies who have trouble with their shoulders and arms often find these bras very helpful.

We have on offer bras with:

Deep, soft pockets to hold your prosthesis securely

Wide, cushioned straps that don’t dig in

A comfortable back band for all-day wear

Soft, non-wired cups — your skin will thank you

Brands like Amoena, Anita, all offer beautiful post-mastectomy ranges. And if you’re feeling brave, many high-street brands now offer pocket bra adaptations too.

A Little Note on Feelings

Buying a prosthesis and new bras can feel like a big step. Some women find it liberating — a visible sign of moving forward. Others find it quietly sad, a reminder of what’s changed. Both are valid. Both are normal.

Bring a friend with you if that helps, or come alone and take your time. There’s no right way to feel. What matters is that you find something that makes you feel comfortable and like yourself again.

You’ve been through so much. This is one more step on the journey back to feeling good in your own skin — and you absolutely deserve to get there. 💛
